- Explore the magical waters of Glacier Bay National Park. Enjoy hiking, sea kayaking, tidepooling and nature walks, bird watching, and glacier excursions with your on-board naturalist
- Visiting the upper Bay and it's magnificent glaciers would take about 3 days. These days would be filled with hiking wild beaches looking for tracks of bear and moose, walking on tidewater glaciers, hiking up a mountainside for birds-eye views, and exploring by sea kayak (no previous experience necessary).
- Bald eagles soar and seals lounge on ice floes as you discover the breathtaking fjords and watch glaciers calve. At days end, return to the welcoming warmth of the Whale Song for a cup of hot chocolate or glass of wine, to savor a delicious meal (fresh seafood, of course!), and enjoy wildlife watching from the deck during the long Alaskan twilight.
- There are opportunities to explore, relax, and also drop a line in the water to catch your dinner.
- After the inner Bay journey we will travel through Icy Straits visiting several bays, streams, and small southeast communities while we fish for halibut and salmon. At the same time we keep our eyes out for the abundant humpback whales,orcas, and seal lions. Dining on your fresh catch of the day while listening to the song of the humpbacks is a great compliment to the music and song of the Whale Song.
All meals are included and fishing licenses are sold on board. All tackle and rods supplied on board except fly fishing gear. We will prep your fish for a processor who will fillet and vacuum pack to your individual preference. We recommend 6 days for your custom adventure that combines the best that Southeast Alaska has to offer.
Your adventure would begin on Saturday evening with a simple dinner onboard the Whale Song in a quiet anchorage. The next 6 days will be spent onboard and will end in Gustavus on Friday afternoon. The total cost for this trip is $2850.00 per person. Our daily rate is $475 per person per day but please feel free to call regarding trips of shorter or longer duration. We specialize in families so please call for our family rates.
